Bad
2024 and ongoing
The history of the Fössebad dates back to the 19th century. Before the first swimming pool was built, the Fössebad was a river swimming bath. For this purpose, the small river Fösse was dammed. At the end of the 1950s, the bath became the first combined indoor and outdoor swimming pool in the Federal Republic of Germany. Several times, closure threatened, which was prevented by the dedicated citizens of Hannover Linden. Today, the Fössebad is maintained by a support association for the public, schools, and clubs, and it is an integral part of Linden‘s leisure culture. The photo series aims to tell about the visitors of the Fössebad and the pool as a space for community and leisure.
